A collection of materials by Harry Persons Taber, founder of the Roycroft Shop and of the periodical The Philistine in 1895, relating to his work there and to his partnership with Elbert Hubbard, which ended when Hubbard bought out Taber's share of Roycroft in 1896. Includes the first issues of The Philistine, copies of the Taber-Hubbard partnership agreement, Taber's typescript poetry and short stories, his autograph diary for 1881, correspondence with Charles Burchfield, H.G. Wells, and others, periodical clippings, photographs, and materials relating to Taber's later career in Wilmington, Delaware with his Taber Laboratories Corporation.

Although he is best known for his work as editor of the Roycroft journal the Philistine, Taber's professional life took many turns. Before joining Hubbard in 1895, he served as a journalist at the Denver Republican newspaper from 1892-1894.
